Provera

So I stopped the pill in February, had my withdrawl period March 18th-21st and have not had one since. I called my doctor today and after a blood test to make sure I'm not pregnant she wants to start me on provera. Will I have to take provera every month or will that just cause a period with the hope that my body will do it on it's own next month? Should I be using opks and temping to see if I ovulate in my own? How many cycles will I need of provera to regulate? I have so many questions.
