My birth story one year later🤷🏼‍♀️💕
My daughter just turned a year old on 5/11

At my 12 week appointment, my bp was very very high. Needless to say I was referred to a MFM doctor, put on bp meds, and baby aspirin. For the most part my pregnancy was pretty easy. I had a varicose vein in my groin and some lower back pains, other than that it was good. By week 37 my bp began creeping up, so my meds were doubled, then tripled. By 38 weeks that wasn’t enough, I was completely switched to a new stronger med. The new bp med worked for a few days. I was going in two times a week for NSTs. My doctors finally decided to call it and scheduled my induction for 39w. I went in on Thursday 5/10/18 to have cervidil placed. Now here is where my story gets crazy!!! The hospital was having some work done (on a floor below us), so the power had to be cut off at 7pm. The only power we had access to was the emergency lights and “red outlets”. Lucky me, my rooms emergency light didn’t work in the bathroom and the room was HOT!!! So eventually they moved me. I knew the power was getting turned off so I had my boyfriend bring my laptop and an extension cord so I could plug into the red outlet and watch Netflix (I was able to pick up WiFi from someone 💪🏻) Contractions picked up by 9pm. I was allowed to get up and walk the halls. I was checked...no progress at all!!! I was dilated or thinned at all!!! By 2am the nurses gave me morphine because I couldn’t sleep through the contractions. The next morning at 6am I was hooked up to pitocen. After 6 hours they checked me and I still hadn’t progressed at all!!! It was then that the doctors, myself and my boyfriend decided it was best to move forward with a c-section since by bp kept rising. I was so nervous and excited!!! By 12:30 I was walking into the OR. My beautiful daughter was born at 1:17pm weighing 6lb 13 1/2 oz and 21in long. We brought her home on Mother’s Day last year!!!
