Anyone in the US manage a year off for maternity leave?
Or a reduced schedule? I hate the idea of going back to work full time after 3-4 months. It seems cruel and unusual to me. I make almost double my husband’s salary, but we are considering having me quit and find part time work after leave, and then I’d start the search for a new FT gig when LO is about a year. It will mean scraping by and eating up all our savings, but we’re on DH’s insurance anyway so we think we can do it, and I just really want that time with my baby. Any mamas in the US work out something good and doable for maternity leave? I wish our country took better care of us.
