Baby girl arrived today!

Baby girl arrived June 3, 2019. I was induced on June 2nd and started on cytotec at noon. At 4 pm they checked me and I was still only 1 cm so was given another dose of cytotec. At 9pm I was given cervidil as the cytotec was not helping me make any progress. The cervidil kicked in quickly and by midnight I was having terrible contractions and back labor. At 2:30 am I finally asked for pain drugs and they gave me fentanyl in my IV. That helped for a bit and I was able to get some sleep. At 4 am a crew of nurses ran in and said they needed to flip me as baby was in distress. The close together contractions caused her heart rate to drop quickly so they pulled the cervidil out. Once they did that my contractions really let up and I was not in pain anymore. At 8 am they said I was finally dilated to a 3 and they could give me an epidural and break my water. The epidural went amazingly smooth and I felt no pain when they broke my water. After they broke my water they started me on pitocin and I took a nap. I woke up around 2:30 and they checked me and I was at 5 cm with contractions coming fairly close together. By 5 pm I was fully dilated and it was time to push! I did practice pushes with the nurse for 10 minutes or so and she called for the dr to come. Unfortunately the dr was held up and I had to stop pushing and wait for her to arrive — which was not easy! Once the doctor arrived I did three pushes and she was out! No tearing, no pain! Highly recommend the epidural— made the entire process SO smooth and I couldn’t have asked for a better delivery experience!!
