What do I go by?

By my LMP I’m 9 weeks 2 days but at my ultrasound they measured me 8 weeks 2 days & since it was a week difference they said they wouldn’t change it so do I go by my lmp or ultrasound? When I just called my doctor she asked how many weeks I was & before I said 8+2 she’s like oh your 9+2. Now I’m confused lol

I think it just depends on the dr. According to my first ultrasound baby was exactly a week behind but at my last ultrasound baby was measuring 3 days ahead of the “new” due date. I’m confused too really. Didn’t get a chance to ask him.

The official acog guidelines for dating are that at 8 weeks or less you change the due date if the sono differs by more than 5 days from your lmh. After 8 weeks you change it if it’s off by a week or more. Into the second trimester they lengthen that time even more. So, technically your ob is wrong, your due date should go by the sono. This is significant because later if baby measures small again they might freak out and think baby is t growing on track but is actually right on track based on your first sono. They may also push for an induction if you’re past the due date they use from your period but based on that sono you won’t actually be past your due date...I would push back on that one if I were you.
