Is it unreasonable to ask my MIL to limit the time she spends on her phone when she babysits?

My daughter was telling me she was so bored today when grandma babysat, and I know it was because she spent a ridiculous amount of time on her phone. I just don’t know if it’s reasonable of me to ask her to try to limit her time on her phone while she watches my kids, or if I’d be overstepping

They are your children. Tell her if she can't or won't actually spend time with them you'll find a different sitter.

You could have a conversation. Since your daughter brought it up you could start with that. “She loves spending time with you but feels like you’re really distracted “ or something like that.
