Ok this is from a stepmom position who is VERY much pro learning and creativity, and anti screen time. 1 Limit screen time, but make it earnable at young ages2 blocks, board games, coloring books, painting, chalk board, drawing, promote creativity, wrote a journal, etc. 3 read stories at bedtimes and ask questions about the story4 make them go outside and play with other kids5 got to your local libraryMy stepson was on the screen a lot and finally i was able to talk my fiancé into a sticker program. The first chart i created was based on daily goals. If he got so many stickers each day he would earn something; dessert, .25 cents, screen time, another fun earnable things. Now he is on a sticker chart where every time he earns X amount of stickers he gets screentime and when he gets 100 stickers he gets to go buy a toy ($30 limit). My stepson is very much motivated my earning things.
