Sex during pregnancy

Hi I'm currently waiting to give birth any day now and been wanting to try to induce my labour naturally and have read sex helps.

Problem is...the last time we had sex was around 20 weeks and was a fail because a I kept getting thrush and sex was sore . As pregnancy went on my partner couldn't bring himself to have sex because he couldnt stop thinking about the baby being right there. I'm now due any day and I heard it's good to have sex to bring labour on. But my partner is reluctant because feels weird about babys head being right there.

I feel bad we haven't had sex in so long and I keep thinking about the recovery time after birth as well etc ...

I was wondering if anyone elses is in the same boat ? Did u have regular sex throughout pregnancy?
