Menstrual cup cleaning

Katelyn

Hey guys! I use a menstrual cup and LOVE it (about a year into using it) I clean mine often with warm water and soap and boil it every so often to sanitize it. Do you guys have any methods for lightening the stain? I know it’s clean I’m just looking for a way to keep the overall staining of it lighter. If not it’s all good just wanna keep learning about the menstrual cup!

I’m not sure if it will help since you’ve already been using it for that long but I was told when you’re emptying it rinse it with cold water first and then hot water, it helps prevent the staining.

I’ve had mine for 6 years & it’s completely clean- no staining at all! I use a tuperware type tub & use a milton tablet (it’s actually 1/4 of a tablet for the size of the tub) & when I’ve finished obviously wash the cup & put it in the fluid. The first few times I kept it in the fluid for the time it said (about half an hour I think it is), but then I forgot about it once for a few days! when I took it out it was like new again. I worried initially that it would degrade quicker by leaving it in the milton longer than recommended but it’s still going strong after 6 years & I feel much better getting a clean looking cup out each month instead of a stained one :-)

I definitely second rinsing it with cold water. Also, I think you can use peroxide but I’d contact customer service so they can tell you the best way to get rid of stains. For their product
