Does Anyone Else’s Husband Not Producing Sperm?

Question

My husband and I got married almost 10 years ago. In the last 9.5 years, we have had unprotected sex and have been unsuccessful in conceiving a child. 
My husband took his first SA test done last January to find out that he has LOW sperm, his sperm count was 0. 
This month, my husband took a second SA test done, and again his results came back 0 sperm. 
He’s only 32. He’s NEVER taken ANY steroids, he’s NEVER had ANY surgery that would cause this issue, he DOESN’T take any medicine that causes infertility, he’s NEVER had a vasectomy, he wears boxers, he’s at a healthy weight and doesn’t have diabetes etc. 
He’s tried FertilAid which didn’t help whatsoever !
He’s seeing a urologist on June 26th, to see what is causing this. 
Sadly, our health insurance company doesn’t cover fertility specialists. We looked into IVF but we don’t have the $10,000 to pay out of pocket for that.

Another member on this forum said something very wise that might help you as you consider your options while going forward: Do you and your partner want a child, or do you wish to pass on your genes to the future?

This happened to my husband. His sperm count was absolute zero. We went and saw a urologist and he had a varicocelectomy but unfortunately it didn’t solve the problem and it was still zero. We ended up using donor sperm with IUI, which didn’t work, then with IVF which did work.
There are lots of reasons for azoospermia. Sometimes it can be corrected and sometimes it can’t. Sometimes sperm can be extracted from the testes and used for IVF, and sometimes it can’t. Wish you all the best on this journey, it’s a hard road ✌🏽

That’s us. Used donor sperm for many IUIs, now on to IVF.

We have the same issue. Our doctor completed a bunch of tests on him including ultrasound, blood work, including genetic blood tests as some genetic conditions can cause azoospermia, or no sperm. We figured out he has a mutation for CF that causes the vas defrens to not hollow out thus sperm can’t get out. We will be seeing a urologist and doing IVF. Ask your doctor for more testing!
