Infection after waters breaking

Did anyone’s waters break which led to an infection? I gave birth 8 days ago my waters broke and I wasn’t induced until 24hours later and due to complications I had an emergency c section 33 hours after my waters breaking. I’m not sure if my broken waters was the reason but I caught an infection within this time and was told it could be sepsis as the infection indicator was so high. I was in hospital on an antibiotic drip for 4 days and I’ve since been at home on oral antibiotics which finish tomorrow. I’m so worried that the infection hasn’t cleared and something bad will happen. Did anyone else have a similar experience?
