Dog growls at me

Hi I know this probably isn’t this place to post this, however I feel the need to tell people this in hopes that they can help me!

So I have two Italian mastiff dogs. A boy and a girl about 6 and a half months old. Now the female dog has shown aggressive behavior to my other animals and her brother when it came to food such as growling and even going as far to attack them. Now I did spank her when she did this and would put her in the cage for about 30 minutes so she would learn her lesson and it had worked well kinda..... for a little while. today though I gave them a braid rawhide when I went to take it from her she growled very aggressively towards me. At first I was shocked cause she has never done this to me or any human just other animals. I went to see if she would do it again, she did and went to attack me!! I did spank her for that and put her in the cage! honestly don’t know what to do I never want to get rid of any of my animals but I can’t stand to put up with her growling and attacking my animals and also me now!!!

Also when I mean spank I don’t spank them hard just pats on the bum to know that what they did was wrong! I would never abuse any of my animals EVER!! Just clarifying that because I know people can come at you and say that oh you abuse your dog and that’s why she attacked you!! But I don’t do that and will never do that!

Okay so I actually have just read that you shouldn’t hit your dog and I will stop that and look for other alternatives like just putting them in timeout!! But this is the first time she has ever growled or attacked me when trying to take food from her!!
