Smoking cigarettes while pregnant
So my mom just informed me that while she was pregnant with me, she smoked 10 cigarettes a day... This came to a shock to me because she always talks about how she did everything she could to keep me healthy inside the womb. (Like avoiding chocolate and caffeine and eating foods rich in nutrients) And I was really upset and shocked and she really thought it wasn’t a big deal and 10 cigarettes a day was nothing. And she’s always preaching that abortion is wrong and “women who kill their babies are horrible” but I read that smoking while pregnant could result in a stillborn birth or infant death syndrome. So how is that any different? Like I know it’s hard to quit smoking but to not be able to quit for the sake of your baby? And then preach about how you did everything you could to keep them healthy? (Also like to mention that she still smokes and does it even more, along with 3 others in my household who smoke non stop) Ugh, I don’t know what think right now. I’d really appreciate y’all’s opinion on this.
(Also not really sure what group to put this in)
