Piercing baby’s ears?

Just wondering how many of you plan to get your baby girls ears pierced when she’s old enough? I’m so torn on if I want to get them pierced or not. I think it’s so cute but I also realize that it’s unnecessary pain I would be putting her through. Just wanting to see what you mamas think!

I’m waiting until she’s old enough to ask and understand that it will be painful.  
I would never pierce a baby’s ears, or circumcise my son, as I don’t believe in altering their body without consent unless it’s a genuine medical procedure that has to happen.

I have 3 daughters who are 5 years old, 4 years old and 6 months old. None of them have their ears pierced. I want it to be their decision. We gave my older 2 daughters the option this year and both said no. So when they want it, then we'll do it.

Depends on what you mean by old enough. My husband and I are waiting until she asks for her ears to be pierced. She’s almost 4 and has never brought it up.

Getting my babes done on the 30th a few days after she is 3 months. She’s half Indian and pretty much al Indian baby girls have their ears done. She has a TON of real gold and gem stones she was gifted.

My daughters are 7 and 3 years old and I couldn’t bring myself to pierce their ears as babies. That’s a lot of prolonged pain for the sake of vanity or looking cute. Plus I want them to decide that for themselves. I’m glad I didn’t do it because my 7 year old had no interest in getting her ears pierced and maybe she never will. My 3 year old doesn’t either yet.

I got my daughters pierced at 3 months and she literally cried for less than a minute and since she was that small I didn’t have an issue let it heal since she didn’t touch her ears and now she loves it when I change it to different earrings she is 2 years old now

I’m on the 3 month/4 month old side (depending when you get your vaccines!)... my mom let me decide when to get them and I had SOOOO many problems at the age of 10. Like sooooo many. With my other two sisters she got one of them done at 3 months and one done at 4 months. All she had to do was clean them for two weeks and she said honestly the babies didn’t even mess with them. To each their own but if they don’t like them when they grow up they can always take them out!

My daughter turned 2 months old recently and we got her ears done a week ago. She cried for maybe 30 seconds and fine ever since. Haven’t had any problems. And doesn’t seem to hurt her when I clean them. I love em. And my family does to.

I had my two daughters ears pierced around 11 months. They cried about 30 seconds and never any problems. My 2 year old picks out different earrings everyday, it’s so cute!

I have two girls, an almost 3 yr old and almost 2 week old. We plan on waiting until they ask for it. That’s what my parents did, and I was about 6/7 when I wanted them. I think my sister was 5 or 6 when she did. That way, we were somewhat old enough to keep them clean and taken care of with a little help from mom.
