I had it once when I was really young, like a preteen maybe, and it was the creepiest thing, I was just stuck staring at my blankets straight ahead, and it was like I was paralyzed for hours. I didn’t see anything scary that time, or at least I can’t remember seeing anything. And then when I moved into my house it was my first time being home alone ever because my SO would go to work all day, for like the first month or so I would have the weirdest things happen, one time I was paralyzed next to my SO and this thing that looked EXACTLY like the Rake (google it) crawled over him and grabbed me. It was literally so scary. Or I’d have this thing where it was like I was awake but I couldn’t move my body or open my eyes at all, and I’d hear someone walking up my stairs and into my room and I couldn’t do anything. But mostly all of the things involved my stairs somehow, like I’d always hear something walking up the stairs in my dreams. Or I’d have dreams of me standing at the top of the stairs and facing away from them and something running up them behind me. And they were all so realistic. Luckily I haven’t had any of them since but they would literally make me feel sick all day, I’d just sit downstairs on the couch until my SO got home because I was so afraid of going up the stairs.
Have you ever had a sleep paralysis?
When I was about 15 I experienced multiple of them about a month or so after my grandma passed away and I’d feel like something was about to harm me and when it all was over about a year later after she died I would think maybe it was her but she wouldn’t harm me. I’d see literally shadow figures and I thought I was crazy. When I had told my dad about this he didn’t believe me. He told me it was a bad dream and I wasn’t seeing anything. But I know what I experienced and It was the scariest thing.
