So I found out my MIL is upset that I haven't come to her with any questions about my pregnancy.

First of all: I have a doctor and a team of midwives.

Second: MIL and I don't have any shared medical history! If I have a question about something going on with my body, I go to my own blood aunt, who has a lot of the same medical issues I do and also had her first kid in her mid-30s. What exactly am I going to ask MIL about, other than really generic pregnancy questions?

Third: MIL has her own daughter, who already has FOUR kids. So it's not like this is the first pregnancy and she's being left out of something she'll never get to experience with her own daughter, or anything like that. I'm not even the first daughter-in-law to be pregnant.

Fourth: MIL is really old-fashioned and believes a lot of outdated, pseudoscientific nonsense that I really don't want to entertain at all because it stresses me out. She completely wore me out with crazy old wives' tales when I first started having fertility issues.

Literally why would I come to her for anything??
