What is marriage like ? I want to know before I actually agree to marrying a man.

I’m dating someone & of course I’m dating to marry right. Well I know marriage is about handling finances together & having kids. But can anyone like tell me what marriage involves other than like buying houses & stuff? Like what other financial stuff do we worry about? 
I don’t wanna marry someone & be shocked at how many decisions you make with your SO.

I recommend living together atleast a year before getting married or even engaged. Then you will get a glimpse of how marriage will be with that person.

Marriage isn't about buying a house or having kids. It's about committing to each other and planning to go through life together. Your life with your partner needs to be enough and owning a home or having children is a bonus to that. Personally I feel like you marry someone for what your relationship and life with them is, not what it could be. 
That's what my husband kept telling me as we struggled with infertility. Reminding me he married me for me and whatever else we end up with is a bonus.
 It is also important to remember that marriage never solves problems, it only amplifies them. So you just have to be honest with yourself about why you want to marry your partner. It can be challenging but it's so worth it!

Marriage isn’t about any of the stuff you mentioned. That stuff is part of marriage but it’s not what marriage is about. Marriage is about loving your spouse, being there for them in sickness and in health, rich or poor. It’s about lifting each other up when the other one is down. It’s about a lifetime commitment. 
Yes finances, kids, buying/renting a home is part of marriage but honestly if that’s what you think it’s about maybe you should wait until you have a better understanding of what marriage is about. Good luck!!♥️

I wouldnt day marriage is about handling finances together, or having kids. It's about love, commitment, loyalty. I wouldnt even say to "be willing" or "prepare" to share decisions or anything. If you are not EAGER to share decisions, support each other, spend your lives together... he ain't the one.

Also marriage is wonderful if you are in it with the right person. But it can be hard at time. Like I said it’s about commitment. You don’t give up when it gets hard. You push through and work through it. It is not something that should be taken lightly.

Marriage has nothing to do with those things. You can accomplish all of those things outside of marriage just as equally. Marriage is a choice and not one that should be taken lightly. There’s no fairytale associated with it. Communication is key. Remember growth is a part of life and you have to maneuver that journey together. I’ve been with my husband since we were both in high school. It’s been 15 years and I love him more now than I ever have and our love only continues to grow. But there have been hard times just as there has been good ones as well. Marriage is loving someone unconditionally. If they get diagnosed with an illness, that would not change how you feel, you would be by their side. My husband always says he loves me for my mind and personality and that one day my body will not stay the greatest and we will age but that love for the person, the human inside the body, will stay. Unconditional- loving each other for no specific reason. We wake up and do life together each morning because we choose to share with with each other. In my first marriage in thought children were necessary for happiness. That marriage fell apart because there was not the foundation of unconditional love. I still have my 2 children, but joint custody. My husband does not have kids and we dont plan on it. We enjoy our time together. I hope this makes sense. Even if it doesn't, it make sense to me.

Ive been with my husband for 14 years. We've been married for 5 years. I wouldn't trade it for the world. However... It takes time to get to a great spot and i highly recommend living together for sometime before getting married. It takes awhile once together and living together to truly get to know someone.
