Pregnant with my first nugget and I spoke with my insurance and they cover these 100%. They don’t offer any upgrades or swaps so spectra s1 is not an option. Any moms try both and prefer one over the other? Or anyone have any pros/cons feedback about experiences with either? Thanks!!!

Spectra for sure. I used a Medela Symphony (the fanciest one that you can rent from the hospital) for two months because the hospital said I needed to to get my milk to come in. But I wish I just used my Spectra the whole time. It was so much more comfortable, quiet, more settings to customize, and parts were easier to clean. And it’s a closed system, so I bought a second one used for super cheap so that I didn’t have to move one pump back and forth for work. And I exclusively pumped so I was pumping constantly, and the new and used ones held up for the 9 months of pumping I did after the Medela. If you can, the Spectra S9 is great for travel if you needed to (or pumping in the car).

Buy a hand/ manual pump and a milk catcher for the other boob for $20 and save the money for bags: you’ll need them!

I love that Spectra has lots of settings for suction and speed to find what works for you and that it’s a closed system so milk can’t get in the tubing and get nasty :)
