Need help styling my hair

Hey, ladies. So I’ve been struggling with styling my hair lately. I recently got it cut pretty short, about collarbone length but it appears a bit shorter than that when dry. My hair is fine and a bit wavy but mostly straight. I try curling with a curling wand but the curls kinda seem like a bit much with my hair short. I’m looking for a way to style it and get some cute more relaxed waves without looking like Shirley Temple. Halp please!
