Stripping the membranes?

Should I ask my midwife about it? (38&4)
Is it painful?

I had a sweep on Wednesday. I had cramping and spotting the first day and yesterday I lost big chunks of my mucus plug and had some bloody show. I’m hoping today is the day! 
Personally for me the membrane sweep did not hurt. I think it all matters how ready your body is!

I’m 39+2 and had mine swept 2 days ago. It was my second membrane sweep as the first didn’t work. My first sweep wasn’t painful at all. But my second was unbearable. She did it more aggressively and I wanted to cry during it. I’m 4cm dilated and 70% thinned out. There’s a 50/50 chance it helps. If you decide to get it, do lots of walking, do squats and bounce on a yoga ball. I’m hoping this one helps, but we’ll see 😊

I had mine swept at 4pm on Wednesday. I was 38+1. 2cm and 50% effaced. It was actually pretty painful. So far no contractions or signs of labor so I’m thinking it probably didn’t work for us. I’m being induced on Tuesday 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had mine done on Wednesday and I was 38+1. I was already 4cm and 50% effaced and not gunna like it was a little intense. 
Definitely had lots of bleeding which led into lots of mucus and probably my bloody show the next day. I did have some contractions and cramping but it all went away. May have them try again at my next appointment.

I had a sweep yesterday. I was already 2cm dilated and 25% effaced. It was definitely an experience lol I was breathing like i was giving birth haha. I was cramping on and off hours after, today the contractions were a little stronger but not close enough to go to the doctor. I also started losing some of my mucus plug. No active labor yet but I’m hoping I have my baby by this weekend. I’m due the 7th of July and they’re pushing for a July 10th induction 🙅🏽‍♀️

They stripped me when they induced me with my first. It hurt like a mother hubbard then but I was also kind of a sissy lala too. I mean it’s not terrible for me the pain didn’t last all that long.
