Strep 4x in one year ???

My 2.5 year old has been in daycare almost a year now. Winter was rough he had everything bronchitis strep ear infections whooping cough with strider twice ... I get kids get sick the first year but it’s now summer and my son has strep for the 4th time in a little less than a year ...
At what point would you think it’s the daycare being negligent with cleaning ? Or is this still normal ???

Sounds normal. My son is 4 now and has only been getting sick less and less now thankfully. Pre-school years and awful for bugs. Whooping cough I would think is very uncommon because of the vaccine

My son got strep at least that much for many years....through pre-school, kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade until he had it 6 times in one year....then I was over it and he had his tonsils removed. My sister and brother were the same. Strep is one of those things that some kids are really prone to getting.

Might be that your child is more susceptible to strep and may be contracting it from children who don’t show signs. Some people are carriers without feeling sick. They pass it on without even knowing. The daycare might be doing everything they need to do but your child has a lower immune system to this particular virus. Might be a question for your pediatrician. Some people have their tonsils removed.

I use to get strep that much if not more as a child, I had my tonsils removed when I was 15 and have had strep once in the 9 years since. that might be something to talk about with her doctor

My kids are not in daycare and get sick about once a month. I think some kids get sick more then others.
