Trigger warning//suicide NEED ADVICE

I need help. I need advice. Whatever you can do. I’m 36 and have a teenage daughter (A) who turns 14 in three weeks. My best friend and work partner (S) also has a girl the same age (O), they are a week and a half apart and are the best of friends as well.

The last few weeks, I’ve noticed that my daughter is a little more moody. She gets angry easier and acts out with her younger siblings. I thought nothing of it, I just figured she was growing and changing and being a normal teenager...

Well, a few days ago, everything changed. I got woken up in the middle of the night by my daughter crying and saying “she’s going to kill herself, she’s going to kill herself...”

I get up, take her back to her room and she says that her friend had taken a bottle of painkillers and sent her a snapchat.

I woke my husband up and told him what was going on, he suggested we call 911 right away, then my friend. My mind was all over the place, I couldn’t think or speak or function, really.

I then had an adrenaline rush or something, took my daughter and we drove to their place. The ambulance was already there. They took S apart and told her that they received a call and that her daughter was possibly in danger. As soon as she saw us, she started crying. She took my hand and we all went inside the house, and she opened O’s bedroom door. She was laying on the floor, mouth partly opened, seemingly sleeping. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since that night, I have barely been able to sleep. My daughter feels guilty because she thought something was wrong but didn’t ask her. She’s been crying a lot and refusing to eat or sleep. My friend has taken a leave of absence from work, and is completely devastated. My heart hurts. I don’t know what to do for both of them. We are all so confused.

They were supposed to start high school together next month. They had a lifelong bucket list of things they wanted to do together. I’ve never felt like this before and I absolutely hate it. Please, someone tell me what to do. Tell me it gets easier. Please.
