I just found out today that I’m pregnant. Im 19 years old, and my boyfriend is 23. Im turning 20 in less than a month. I just told my mom I’m pregnant to get it off my chest but I’m still shocked and don’t know what to do. My boyfriend is open to whatever my decision is and has told me that he will support me in whatever i decide to do and has told me he wont leave my side. We do both have jobs and all and i feel we can make this work, but its gonna be very hard. I still cant believe this, it almost feels like a dream... any advice would be nice

I ended a pregnancy 5.5 years ago. It’s was an incredibly difficult and life changing decision. It was also the best choice, and I have never once regretted it. I am thankful everyday that I was able to keep living my life and achieving my goals. 
I’ve now reached a time where I’m considering TTC. If I do so and have a kid in the next year or two, I will be able to give that kid a great life, in part, because I didn’t have a baby when my life and I were not ready for one. 
Carry the pregnancy or end it. Either is a valid choice. You know you and your situation better than anyone. You are more than capable of making this choice. Take care.

I had an abortion a little over month ago. I don’t like talking about it as i took it really hard and it still hurts to think about. I’m 22 and engaged, he’s 26. He wasn’t ready for a child, and honestly neither was I but if he were supportive I think would have kept it. He would go back and forth from being excited about us starting a family to saying that our lives were ending and would get really stressed out and difficult to be around. From being really sick and struggling to carry out all my daily work, to having to take time off from getting my degree, and knowing we wouldn’t be financially stable for at least another year, were all contributing factors, and there were more. I know that logically the abortion was the right choice, as otherwise we would have struggled quite a bit for the next few years and would possibly never have the foundation we needed for our relationship. But it hurt me a lot. For weeks after I cried myself to sleep, and honestly I just wanted my baby. My fiancé was gone with the military for two weeks after I had the abortion, and I didn’t talk to anyone about it. That wasn’t healthy, and finally a few weeks after my fiancé was back I broke down in the middle of the night and told him how much I was still struggling with the loss, but how I didn’t feel like I deserved to grieve since I chose that. It wasn’t easy but honestly after talking to him about it I started to have closure. It bothered me, because my fiancé wasn’t affected at all, it was as if the pregnancy never happened and he didn’t understand why I took it so hard. He told me one night when he found me crying, before I told him exactly how I felt “you need to accept that it’s done and get over it”. 
After all that, at the time abortion was right for us. But just because it might be the best answer to the situation doesn’t mean it’ll be easy or you won’t feel the need to grieve at all. I’m sorry this was so long but I hope it will help make your decision. I still felt the relief a lot of girls say they feel after it’s over, and I kind of felt guilty about that - but that financial, physical, and so on burden was lifted off my shoulders. If you go forward with the abortion, be sure you’re fully ready for that. If you knew the baby, be sure you’re ready for that. Either decision is one that will affect you for the rest of your life. I had an abortion at 21. It was before I was on birth control. I do not regret the decision because I would have never been able to afford the care or give the child a good life since my partner and I did not want children and still don’t. Do what will be best for your life
