What do you think of your mother in law chiming in when you’re trying to redirect/discipline your child?

Our son will be 3 soon, loves the water and was having a meltdown cause it was time to relax after the pool and I’m trying to calm him down/redirect him and my mother in law is in the background saying ‘no _____’. It got under my skin like no other and I really don’t need my son getting confused on who to listen to.

I will discipline her ass too. Dont step in if you arent the parent or you weren't asked.

My MIL and I have VERY different views on raising kids. She feels like she had to give her opinion after I redirect or tell something to my kids. I nod my head, pretend to listen and remember that we come from very different backgrounds and time periods. That makes me feel better, but I still hate it, lol!

My MIL doesn’t ever butt in when it comes to discipline. My family knows I’m the parent and it’s my duty and my responsibility to discipline my child how I see fit, not them.
