No idea what to think

So... last month I had a three day super lite period. I was super nauseated and I told my SO that we may be prego and that we should go get a few pregnancy tests, he said don’t get your hopes up we don’t know and you had your period so why would you think your pregnant. This month I’ve had a enormous migraine the last three days and I was supposed to start my period today and nothing yet. Idk what to do I want to just take a test and get an answer but he doesn’t wanna spend the money cuz if we aren’t pregnant he believes it’s a waste of money 🤷‍♀️ I’m stuck between wanting to get my hopes up and not getting my hopes up. Any advice?
