Help! I’m afraid to apartment hunt 😓
My husband and I got married last month. He graduated college 2 years ago and I graduated last year. Since my graduation, we have been living with my mom and brother to save up some money, but have planned to move out after getting married.
Well, like I said, we’ve been married for a month now. I want to move out, very badly. I want our own space and to have more time alone just the two of us, especially because we will be trying for a baby soon. I’m looking on apartments.com and real estate sites and such to find apartments/townhomes for rent, and I keep filling out my contact info for them.
But literally as soon as the real estate agents reach out to me, I freak out and don’t answer them. Whenever I see a call from an unknown number now I feel like my breathing stops and I can’t bring myself to answer it. I know I have to talk to them... I have to get more info and schedule tours... but it’s causing me crippling anxiety to do so and I don’t know why 😖
For further clarification, no I don’t have social anxiety (like being afraid to talk to people on the phone is NOT something I generally struggle with) and I DO want to move, at least consciously. Why can’t I do this, and how can I get past it? :(
