Need some encouragement

Elle S

So long story short. I had always planned on breast feeding my baby but about a day or two after birth, I developed sores on both breasts and my baby was sucking so hard before my milk came in (it took 5 days) that they both started bleeding and scabbed up a good amount. I decided to cut back on breast feeding and started pumping and giving it to him in a bottle to give my breasts a chance to heal. It’s a lot better when you can control the suction and speed.

Anytime this comes up in conversation, I feel like I get judged for doing this and I feel incredibly guilty.

I don’t believe any mom should feel guilty about the way they chose to feed their baby, whether is strictly breast feeding, pumping and bottle, or formula. As long as your baby is getting fed, that’s the important thing.

If you have anything negative to say about this, please refrain from commenting. I’ve been feeling really down about this and could just use some encouragement 💙
