Would you go on birth control without telling your spouse?

We already have one child and don’t know if we want more. I was on birth control before but have been off it for 4 months. His thinking is that if it happens, it happens but if we have another child I want it to be our decision to do so. I don’t think he would really care but I was considering going back on birth control and just not mentioning it. I don’t like the mini panic attack I have each month waiting to see if my period comes or not.

How would you feel if he made family planning decisions without you behind YOUR back? That’s not how healthy relationships work. You need to keep talking about this and get on the same page. If you explain how you feel and help him to understand how much that monthly panic attack affects you, he will probably understand. You could look into fertility awareness and natural family planning as a middle ground between your two opinions.

If you don’t think he would care why aren’t you telling him. It sounds like you really don’t want him to know. When it comes to children and stuff, it is a two person decision. You have to talk about it. If you want to go on birth control just tell him. If you don’t you may end up causing some serious issues in your marriage.

You should tell him you're getting on birth control. You don't need his permission but you should be on the same page about having kids or not. 
In my book "not trying but not preventing" is the same thing as intending to get pregnant. The odds of getting pregnant when you aren't using birth control are like over 80% with a year. So if you aren't actively preventing...that's as good as trying.

Honestly, if roles were reversed how would you feel if he went behind your back without discussion? I personally feel that family planning is a something that should be discussed in a relationship. You don’t need his permission, just as he wouldn’t need yours, but you should absolutely discuss it with him. 
As someone else said, not trying to prevent pregnancy is as good as trying for it and chances are you’ll be pregnant within the year 🤷🏼‍♀️ if you aren’t ready for another pregnancy be honest and tell him that.

I'd tell him and if he doesnt like it it's not his fucking body!!

I would make an appointment then about a week before just randomly say I have a appointment next week with my dr/OBGYN. Then if he asks I would tell him for birth control. I would say that you'd rather try for a second baby when y'all are ready!
