Anyone have trouble renting after an “eviction”

Hi all,

I got into some trouble when I was 20 and in college. I had no idea the importance of credit and bit off more than I could chew only working part time at McDonald’s, and attending school full time. I signed a lease with an off campus housing complex who advertised your financial aid as a way to rent with them. That ended up falling through and I could not afford it. I tried working it out, but they were not trying to hear it. I broke the lease and moved back home with my parents and it went on my credit as an eviction. This was back in 2017 and I am nervous I will not be able to rent an apartment now that I have a career and I am financially stable enough to do so. Has anyone been unable to rent due to this?

I did pay what I owed the previous complex.
