NuvaRing

Hey all,

I just recently started the Nuvaring after being on pills for years. I just was awful with the pill taking everyday and a few times a month I would wake up and throw up multiple times because the pill would make me so nauseated. I was terrified of switching to another birth control just because all of them have some nasty side effects, it just depends on which you don’t mind having. I only switched because I’ve recently started working first shift and the nausea was getting worse and affecting my job.

I’ve been on the Nuvaring for 2 weeks, going on to my third and for some reason I’ve been getting this really weird burning sensation inside my vagina during sex. I didn’t take the ring out before anything started more like half way in when it started getting uncomfortable. Taking the ring out didn’t really help. By the time the sex is done it’s burning so bad. I’m not showing any signs of an infection and it’s literally only during sex. And on top of that I feel like my muscles get so tight with it in that I can’t relax to have sex. Which is something super huge for me as I have pelvic floor knots and endometriosis so sex can be pretty painful every once in a while. I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this while on the Nuvaring or if anyone has an recommendations on what to do. My only options for birth control is the pill or nuvaring due to the Endo, and I love the convenience of ring and that I don’t feel like shit on it. I’m hoping it will subside as my body gets used to it but I have no idea. I feel bad for my boyfriend because we’ve tried multiple times and it always starts burning out of no where and he’s scared he’s hurting me. But I have no idea where this burning is coming from. It’s all been new since the ring.

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this.
