What do you guys mean by sleeping through the night?

FTM. My LO is 14 weeks. She goes down between 7-8 and will wake up at 12 wanting to eat and then goes back to sleep until 8-9 am. 
Is this considered sleeping through the night for a 14 week old? Does she need the 12am feeding? I’d love it if we could wean off of that. 
(She eats 25-30 oz during the day)

I count it as 11-12 hours of sleep without any wake ups. It’s also fine that she’s having that night feed cause maybe she just needs it, my son is 22 months only just really started sleeping through the night but still wakes up for a bottle every now and then and goes right back to sleep.

Personally I only use the term for 11-12 hours of consecutive sleep where I don’t have to go into the room for anything (feed or comfort) but I’ve learned people use that term very differently 🤷🏻‍♀️

It sounds like she still needs a night feed. You can gently push it later and later by moving it 15-30 minutes every few days. When she wakes at midnight, soothe her back to sleep with rocking or whatever method works and don’t feed her until 12:15 or 12:30. Every few days move that forward another 15 to 30 minutes. It will take time but you will also know she’s getting what she needs bc if you push it too far she just won’t go back to sleep and you’ll know she really needs it.

Sleeping through the night can be anywhere from sleeping without any feeds during the night or sleeping in 6 hour stretches
My little one used to go 9-5 then 5-9 and I'd class that as pretty much through the night and then a week later he dropped the 5am feed all by himself and now goes 9pm till 9am

My son went to bed at 11pm-1am so his dad could see him a bit before falling asleep he then would sleep for a full 8 hours then wake up hungry or thirsty. I think they're supposed to sleep like 15 hours Im not sure.

I think the rule is that once they are past their birth weight they can sleep through the night however at that age it’s still perfectly normal to need a night feeding.  My baby went down to 1 night feeding at about 3 months and would periodically sleep all the way through at 4 months.  I finally sleep trained him at 5 months.

My daughter sleeps from 7pm to 6am with no feeds and not needing me to help her get back to sleep. She started doing that around 5 months.

My daughter (now only 23 weeks old) used to sleep from 8-3 eat then sleep till about 7 or 8. I thought that was sleeping through the night but now shell go to bed at 8 and sleep till 6:30/7 so that's more all night rather than waking up I guess 😅
