Night light broke baby waking up crying

My son has just woke up crying at nearly 2 am I go in his room it's pitch black his night light has broke I know it was on yesterday morning and working could this by why he's woke up? I've took him to my room because I felt so bad 😭 will be getting a new one tomorrow he's only 9 mo I didn't think he was that observant
