What does it mean when people “follow” you on this app?

I keep getting notifications that people are following me. What does that mean? They get a notification every time I post ?? What if I don’t want people following me ??

It means nothing. They don’t get notifications when you post something or anything like that, and you can’t stop people from following you.

It means nothing. I’m not sure why it’s even a feature. You don’t get notified if someone you’re following posts anything and if they’re profile is on private, you still can’t see what they post and comment. So personally, it’s pretty much a useless feature.

No you can’t stop it. And as everyone else is saying, it doesn’t mean anything really. Your name just appears on a list for them Incase they ever wanna go back to your profile. But if you’re profile is private then they won’t see anything 🤷🏻‍♀️.
People usually don’t follow you unless you post something interesting or juicy. So if you want people not to follow you then just post anonymously.

It doesn’t mean anything - unless they want to send you a private message, and chat with you that way. So if you follow someone, you have an easier way of finding that person to send a private message to (and you can see their posts if not on private).
