Friend stole daughter’s gift card

I went to my friend’s house for her child’s birthday. I gave the child a gift card so she could choose whatever toy she wanted for $30. Before I left, my friend noticed it and said “did child see this yet?”

And when I said yes, she just said “oh”

I know they aren’t doing well financially (even though they both have jobs) but they each smoke a pack of cigarettes a day and can afford “other things”

So last week I saw the child and asked what toy she chose and she told me that her mom used the gift card for food. I am so beyond pissed right now.
