High risk/Cervical stitch for incompetent cervix
Hey everyone, last time I was on here my first born was born extremely early at 24 weeks weighing 1 lb 6 oz. and spent 164 days in the nicu, thank goodness two years later he is healthy as can be! Anyways, the reason my first child was born extremely prematurely was due to me having an incompetent cervix (weak cervix). I am scheduled to get the cerclage (the stitch) here in a few weeks and just wondering if anyone has had this done? What was the healing process like? Were you able to deliver natural or c-section? I’m also going to be receiving an injection every week up until I am 36 weeks as well to make sure I make it full term this time. After going through a traumatizing first pregnancy with my son, I can’t help but be so extremely paranoid that it will happen all over again, even though I am getting things done this go around. I struggle with ptsd now because of the horrifying (yet beautifully painful) experience of my son’s nicu journey. Any tips, advice or just sharing your story/experience with the injection and cervical stitch would be appreciated!
