Baby Shower Dinner????

I’m really leaning towards having a baby shower dinner at a restaurant. I’m not big on parties and I hate being the center of attention. I didn’t have a shower with my first and I feel like I missed out on it. My question is do you ladies think it’d be a terrible idea to have a dinner and everyone just bring gifts? I’d still do party favors just not the games and what not.

You can do whatever you want and feel comfortable with !! I think it’s a great idea. It would be way less stressful than throwing a baby shower !

I prefer these over actual showers tbh. No stress of having to plan games, or sit around and open gifts. Just go, enjoy some dinner, take gifts home if people bring them, and have quality time with your pals. Also not too big, so it’s probably cheaper.

Would you be paying for dinner? I’d feel guilty asking people to pay for their own dinner as well as buy a present.

I am having my baby shower at 2:30 at a Mexican restaurant, fajita buffet, eat at 3, gifts and cake at 3:30, everyone out by 4:30.lol
No games or extras. I’m not even doing party favors, I feel the free fajita buffet is enough for the guests 🤣
I wanted something stress free, but still enjoyable. I didn’t even get many decorations, just some small stuff to make it look like a baby shower. I just want the opportunity to get some well needed items for our baby girl.

Heck yea!!! We did hor’duerves and dessert for mine. It wasn’t just like mini hot dogs and stuff..... it was like 20 different appetizers (because they are def the best part of a meal?), wine and beer (clearly not for me) and dessert. It was perfect. Wish I could go to more parties like it!

I think it’s a great idea! Lots of guests would prefer that to a traditional shower, I bet.
