Induction experiences??

Question

Can some of you tell me of your induction experience? I’m being induced July 31st and I’m not really sure what to expect... how long was you total labor? Did you have an epidural if so when did you get it?

Omg I'm getting induced  the same day at 10:00 pm good luck girl! This is my third and first time being induced 😬 I'm hoping to go into labor before then on my own but who knows !

I was induced with my first at 39+5 if I remember correctly lol... I was already 4 cm dilated before I was induced. My total labour time was around 8 hours with 30 minutes of pushing. I got the epidural around 6 cm dilated. I did find the contractions from the pitocin very strong but once I had the epidural I couldn’t feel anything. I had a long nap and felt much better. Overall there was no complications and it went really well. My biggest complaint is that when you’re induced you have very limited movement because you have to be hooked up to the electronic monitors constantly. Mine were wrapped around my belly so you can move positions in bed but you are confined to the bed. I think that makes it harder to labour naturally because you are so uncomfortable.

I got induced with my first at 40 weeks. Went in and was at 1cm and having contractions that I couldn’t feel. I ended up getting iv pain meds. Then those made me nauseous. So then I opted to get anti nausea meds. Those made me sleepy. Like I couldn’t keep my eyes open but I couldn’t sleep for more than a couple minutes at a time. Soon I got super irritated with my family that was in the room and when I got around 5-6cm the pain was awful. The pitosin made my contractions stack on top of eachother so that they were non stop. My pain level would go from about a 6-9 and never let me breath. I couldn’t get a break from them so I got the epidural. Then I was able to nap. The anesthesiologist thought I was a hoot because he had to read me info and get consent and I kept falling asleep, but was able to repeat what he said and respond when they woke me back up. I probably should have gotten my epidural sooner but they had trouble controlling my contractions. When it was time I think I pushed for 1-2 hours. It was not a good experience for me and I have to do it again next week and I’m dreading it. If my contractions were managed better and I did a different pain management plan it would have been a lot better.

I was induced due to high blood pressure at 40 weeks three days. I was dilated to a 4.5 walking in to my NST. They broke my water at 4 pm on January 11th, started pitocin at 8pm, after pushing just over an hour my son was born at 5:14 am on January 12th. 💙

From start to finish mine was 22 hours. I was 39+2 and was induced for high blood pressure. I think once they cranked up the pitocin that was the worst part. I got an epidural when I was about 5 cm. It initially didn’t work so the anesthesiologist had to come back and do it again. By the time it finally worked I was about 7.5 cm dilated. I was so exhausted I was going to nap and they checked me again and I was 10 cm so I had to start pushing. Only pushed for 30 minutes and my baby girl was here.
