Husband and I have found ourselves both unemployed

And we have a little girl due in December. I know we still have a couple months to sort things out, but it's been a couple months now of applying and interviewing and being told no time and time again and it's getting really nerve-wracking. Even more stressful: I'm a teacher, so with the school year drawing closer the likelihood of me finding a job dwindles significantly.
