No one can prepare you 100%

Jess

I’m currently 10+1, and I had no idea what I got myself into when I got pregnant.

I did so much research, especially on this app. I read people’s stories, peoples testimonies to the first trimester. I read tips and advice, I sought out advice from my mom, (she’s had 8 kids) my sister (who’s had 2) and many other women in my life who’ve gone through pregnancy.

Everyone had good advice, but it wasn’t all the same. Some of it was obvious stuff, but for the most part there were only a few things that stayed the same.

I thought I had most of it prepared for. The morning sickness, the migraines, the earaches, the cramps, all of it.

However I was very very very sorely mistaken. I was not prepared for the feeling of complete and utter drainage, mentally and physically. For the pain that some of this back pain is already springing on me. For the bloat to be so Intense at 8 weeks that I can’t zip my pants anymore. I wasn’t ready for the feeling of needing to puke with every bite, forcing down fluids, or the inability to get out of bed all the time. I wasn’t anywhere ready for the crippling depression, and the inability to not cry at the most random things.

I’m slowly coming to an end on my first trimester, and I can not even express how terrible pregnancy has been. I’m hoping praying and just dying to know if this is how it’s always gonna be. Everyone says it won’t be but my mom and my sister had HG, and there’s a decent chance I have it as well.

So here’s to pregnancy, and not being prepared.
