Is waking up crying normal for babies that are our age?

Like should he still wake up crying??

Mine wakes up crying often if I've been holding him.
I think of it as like if I fell asleep on my arm funny and woke up two hours later it would feel funny the blood rushing back to it, so chalked it up to that for him. 
When he wakes in his cot he is rarely crying, but it does happen. I'm not sure why, some sort of freak out. Makes me sad.

I was also insecure about it when my SILs husband told me that their twins wake up babling from 3 months old. My little girl was waking up crying till 1,5 years for sure 🤣 And my boy mostly wakes up without crying from 3 months on and he is a bad sleeper in compairison to my daughter. So depends on the baby.

Mine only does sometimes but I think usually it's a bad dream or teeth that's bothering her
