Fasting while pregnant?

Is it safe to fast while pregnant? 25 weeks and my OB told me to fast for my 1 hr glucose test tomorrow. He didn’t say for how long he just said to fast and get it done first thing in the morning ...will not eating for 8-12 hours harm my baby

Typically doctors don't ask you to fast for the 1hr, only the 3hr.
I assume your test is in the morning? Then don't eat after 10pm / midnight. Don't drink water or take any medicine / vitamins in the morning either.

Yes it’s safe you can have water all you want after midnight. But don’t eat. Mine is tomorrow at 3:30 and so I’m allowed to eat til 5am. 
My 1st pregnancy I had to do the test 3x the first two I did the fasting. But with me throwing up so much due to nausea fasting then drinking the glucose I just threw it right back up. 
So the last time my doctor told me to just do unsalted soup crackers, water, and if need be sips of milk when I was feeling nauseous.

I had my test at 8am and was asked to fast from 10pm the night before. It’s safe. 
They also told me to bring a snack with me for after the test as my blood sugar levels would be low and I would need something to boost my energy.

Yes it’s safe. All pregnant woman do the test. I was asked to fast for 10hours. So I didn’t eat after 9am... then had the test at 7am. Since majority of the time I was sleeping it was easy.

Your doctor wouldn’t ask you to do something that wasn’t safe. Fasting for a glucose test is safe. I would fast for any other reason during pregnancy personally.

i wasnt allowed to eat after midnight for my 1hr test & i took it at 8am you’ll be fine. you fast for about that long when you sleep anyways

Apart from feeling faint no issues, the baby doesn’t literally eat what you do, it gets nutrients and vitamins from you and you have plenty stored before it would ever be a problem

I mean, technically everyone fasts overnight when they sleep. Even pregnant women. I didn’t eat anything passed 12am for my 1hr. I was told to fast if possible.
