Change tampon straight after swimming?

For some reason I had it in my head that you had to change a tampon right after swimming because of the water absorbed but I googled earlier and it said it was fine?!

I haven’t heard yes or no. But I would think it’s better to be safe and I personally would always change it after.

Well, I take a shower immediately after I go swimming and I’m not one of those people who keep tampons in while showering.
I suggest that you change it for cleanliness purposes and to avoid random bacteria from the pool.

I usually change it just because I don’t want the bacteria from the pool hanging around on the tampon. 
But there have been times, like at a swim meet, where I would leave it in. Never had any issues with it
