And he kept saying he’s sorry and that he wants to be really wants to be friends because he still cares about me he’s just doing what’s best for him at the moment. So I was wondering if being friends with your ex work . And does anyone know how to deal with breakups .

Not if you’re not over him, it’s too fresh to be friends. Tell him you need some time apart so you can move on. Do not catch up via text either, cut all communication until you’re 100% over him.
