Does my taste in books make me immature?

When I was younger, I wasn't much of a reader until I discovered Nicholas Sparks and James Patterson books as a teenager. Now I'm 23 and still read their books, along with some personal development books. But I was talking to some people and everyone was sharing their favorite books and all of theirs were more "adult" books. I mentioned the ones I like and they all acted like I was immature and these books are for teenagers. I mean, so what if these are the books I enjoy? At least I'm reading at all...
