Unknown pain

I am 28 weeks, almost 29 and last night I had a horrible pain in my side and I haven’t had any pain during this pregnancy. Well it lasted about 2 hours and then it calmed down, but now I’m super sore and the area is still very sensitive. I’m scheduled to go see my doctor again on the 7th but I’m a ftm so I’m not familiar with what pains are or normal and what pains are not. If I could get some advice on what it may be or even suggestions on what to do, anything would be appreciated.
