I got a very very faint positive at 8DPO but not an obvious positive until 12DPO. I used pregmate strips for my positive but kept getting negatives on a first response.. it took until a week after my missed period to get a positive on a first response. I even got a negative with an HCG of 137!! So it just kinda depends on the person.

Earliest I would say is 10-12 dpo. However, I would recommend testing if you miss your period. And use a pink dye test.
