Valtrex during pregnancy??

Question

8 months pregnant and feel a cold sore starting. Did anyone take Valtrex during pregnancy? It’s just the one day, two dose prescription.

I’m a pharmacist.  It’s category B so generally safe in pregnancy , especially just for a day or two of therapy. But always run by your OB to be certain they’re okay with it too.

I’m currently on this for an eye infection and it has a warning right on the bottle that says if pregnant or breastfeeding to talk to a doctor. So do that. Or a pharmacist.
