My positive water birth story with baby #5

Sa

The morning before labor started I was feeling similar pains to being on my period. Lots of irritating cramps and I was in a bad mood. I was 41+ weeks and feeling so anxious to have this baby. I had an induction schedule in a few days and was feeling anxious to have this baby before then. My babies are large, 9lbs to 10.6lbs!!😲

Before going to bed that night I was having some mild BH contractions but nothing new since I’ve been dealing with those for weeks now. I woke up at 4am to a strong contraction that kinda snapped me awake. Then two more came 7mins apart but strong enough to make me think this wasn’t BH contractions. I wake my husband up letting him know this could actually be really labor. My last baby came within two hours of getting to the birth center so we had a feeling these contractions could pick up quite. I called my midwife at 5am and she said to come in and get checked. We contacted our babysitter that it’s time to head over, we had four little one still sleeping in their beds.😁

We get to the center at a little after 6am. Contractions have slowed some but that was to be expected after the car ride. My plan was to have a water birth so as soon as we got to our room the midwives were already filling the tub knowing this baby could come soon. After 20min I asked to get checked to see where I was dilated, I was already at a 6 and the contractions were getting stronger. So I decided to get in the tub and see if it could progress labor quicker. That’s when they really started to pick up but I was able to keep my cool and breath through them. I would focus on relaxation in between contractions and that really helped me get through each one.

I asked to be checked again and I was at 10 centimeters dilated and could start pushing. I tried to push but I wasn’t getting the feeling my body was ready to push so I held off and kept breathing through the contractions. Then a contraction came that was pretty intense. The next one I pushed and felt the baby move down a little. I reached down and could feel the top of his head and knew I needed to really push hard with the next contraction. I literally pushed with all my strength and felt him crowding, my hand was on his head still. Next two pushes he was out and I pulled him into my arms!!! Noah Aden was born at 9am weighing 9lbs 6oz and 21 in long. It was so incredible, I have never experienced feeling my baby’s head while pushing and delivering the baby myself. It was amazing and beautiful! If you want to watch my birth story check it out on youtube, The Moore The Merrier Vlogs! It’s hard to write out my story as well as it was filmed, so it’s a must see! My husband was amazing, he helped me so much with putting pressure on my lower back and keeping me positive! We came home that same day and introduced little Noah to our four kids, they were all so excited!! We also got their reactions on film, love that we will forever have these memories recorded!!

Thank you for reading my story, I love reading other mothers stories too so please share your experience I’d love to read them!😘
