Is it okay to make a post complaining about your SO without asking them first?

On other social media with people you know or on here? If it's on something like Facebook I say just refrain from putting your problems on there at all especially pertaining to your relationship. On here? Complain away.

Yes I do, especially anonymously. 
Although privacy is important, I think people really do need to talk about what goes on in their relationships. I think that actually improves the quality of the average relationship. If we keep everything private, we suffer silently, often completely unnecessarily. 
If I never confided in my friend about my emotionally abusive relationship, I may not have known I was being manipulated for so many years. We would have gotten married. 
People need to talk about their relationships to recognize abuse!
And to feel understood or understand their partner, who is inevitably going to be different from them, if we talk about it, maybe we can help people understand each other better,  and have vastly improved love lives.
So it has to be a certain balance. Posting about your partner when people know who they are or who you are is in bad taste. Posting personal information unless anonymous and necessary, is inappropriate. 
For instance, one of my ex's was on drugs, but I don't say which ex, which drugs, what he does or any identifying factors about him because that's his business & nobody knows me on here.
Talking to friends can also be complicated, as you can't say personal things about a person they'll meet! 
Also 100% yes. In a relationship, I am responsible for my actions. It may be personal, but my partners wellbeing is important, and of they need to post (pretty anonymously) or talk to someone about me, I understand! 
I encourage my partners to talk to others about our relationship because I believe that is healthy.

You shouldn’t post it at all in my opinion. If you have an issue with your SO, you should talk to them about it, not put it out on the internet for strangers to comment on. They’re not part of your relationship.

I would say keep the negative stuff off of social media. It's not healthy for your relationship. You're just asking other people to be involved. If it's something like where they don't know you and you're just venting or looking for advice that's different!

I would not be comfortable if my significant other made a post complaining about me I know the other person wouldn’t like it. I think you should make a post like that in general. It’s disrespect to post about your personal relationship problems anywhere in general for every one to see
