Boyfriend problems

I’ve been with the same guy for about 3 1/2 years. We agreed that we wouldn’t get married until I finish university (which is within the next year) and both agreed on kids one day. But, he is also always the first to say that it isn’t happening for a while when I bring it up. I didn’t mind until last night when he denied saying that he liked a wedding venue that I showed him while we were talking about his friend’s upcoming wedding. He did it in front of two close friends and made me out to be a wedding crazed woman. When our friend asked if I wanted kids one day I said yeah and added that I would like that within 3-5 years. My boyfriend laughed and said it was too soon. Then I just sat awkwardly and his just started a conversation about something else. I usually let that stuff go but I woke up this morning still a little hurt. He always acts like when I say stuff like that I want it to happen right that moment. Each time he says things like that it feels like I’m wasting my time with him. I feel horrible thinking like that because I love him, but it’s the truth. I was wondering if anyone else went through something like this and how it ended up.
